Farmers’ Movement

​

Farmers’ ongoing agitation against highly controversial farm laws of the government has spread now in larger parts of the country. This movement is a symbol of India’s vibrant democracy. More and more farmers are joining the movement and people from all walks of life- labourers and workers, students and intelligentsia are assembling around them. The movement is now reaching to grassroot levels in the village of many states.

Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharya (87 years), accompanied by a delegation of noted Gandhins comprising Shri Ram Chandra Rahi, Chairman, Central Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Shri Ashok Sharan, Managing Trustee, Sarv Seva Sangh, Shri A. Annamalai, Director, National Gandhi Museum and Shri Sanjoy Singha, Secretary, Gandhi Smarak Nidhi met leaders of the agitation on 13th February at Gazipur border of the capital.

The delegation requested all concerned to maintain peace and non-violence. They asked the Government to take care of farmers.
